Alien and Predator in Mortal Kombat X were the most downloaded of those, so I would be surprised if we didn’t do any of that. There was a coolness and a novelty factor to seeing the mixing of the things. But you know, Scorpion in Injustice was the most downloaded of all the characters.

Speaking with Game Informer, Boon talked about how, while some players are disappointed when they see a DLC character slot go to a guest character (instead of a universe-appropriate character who didn’t make the original roster cut), most players love getting to duke it out with these fighters from other universes: The popular fighting game series where characters from the DC Universe get together and fight it. Now, it sounds like game director Ed Boon is open to keeping the trend going in next year’s Injustice 2. The problem with Grood is that hes one of the worst characters in the game and is no fun to play. If theres one way to throw a wrench into a cast of classic superheroes and villains, you do it with a giant gorilla.
That “guest character” trend continued in Mortal Kombat X with the addition of iconic film horrors Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Predator, and Alien. Gorilla Grood on paper is an excellent addition to the roster of Injustice. The Insurgency calls the heroes from Prime Earth and battles the Regime, the Legion and Apokolips. And on top of that, Vandal Savage forms The Legion of Doom and Apokolips invades.
